What to expect during a newborn shoot.
As a parent, you want to remember the precious moments of your newborn’s life forever.

Welcoming a new addition to your family is a momentous occasion filled with joy and wonder. Capturing those precious early moments is a must. My goal is to create a relaxed and stress-free environment for both you and your baby, ensuring a memorable newborn photoshoot experience. Let's take a look at what you can expect when you choose our studio for your newborn photoshoot.
I totally understand that the arrival of a newborn can be a hectic time for parents. My studio provides a calm and welcoming environment where you can unwind on the comfortable sofa while I work my magic behind the scenes.
Your comfort and peace of mind is my top priorities.
I highly recommend that parents book their newborn photoshoots while still pregnant. By doing so, we can set a tentative date, typically between 5 to 10 days after your baby is born. This window allows for some flexibility, acknowledging that a new baby in the house can bring unpredictable schedules and unexpected changes. I want to emphasize that my focus is on your family's well-being during this special time. I am always prepared to accommodate any changes and ensure a stress-free experience. Maybe TMI, but I’m going to share nonetheless, when I had my daughter, I had debilitating postpartum depression, mixed in with a nice dose of not being able to breast feed. There is a LOT of pressure put on new moms to breastfeed, (don’t even get me started), so again, your mental and physical health and a TOP priority for me! Period. By the way, my daughter was bottle fed and she’s fine! Nobody tells you how tired and stressed you’re going to be, I totally understand, and I can’t reiterate that enough. Okay, I’m going down a rabbit hole here, I’ll get back on track.
The last thing you need during those first days with your newborn is added stress. Rest assured, I always encourage a relaxed approach to my photoshoots. The most important aspect is bonding with your baby and adapting to the new addition in your family. I’m here to capture the beauty of these moments, not to add any additional pressures.
What to bring!
When you arrive at our studio, all you need to bring is your precious little one, along with plenty of diapers and milk (if not breastfeeding). It's also a good idea to pack some extra snacks, water, and entertainment for older siblings, making the experience enjoyable for the whole family.
How long with the shoot take?
Newborn photoshoots are as unique as each baby. They can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending on your baby's comfort and disposition on the day. If your baby is very young and hasn't yet established a sleep or feeding schedule, it might be best to wait a few more days for a more peaceful session. We believe in taking our time to ensure that your baby is not rushed and that we capture those sweet, candid moments.
Getting ready
Before coming to the studio, I suggest keeping your baby awake for about 45 minutes to ensure they are relaxed and ready for their session. Make sure your baby is well-fed with a full tummy, and dress them in something that's easy to remove, allowing for a smooth transition into different setups. If for whatever reason, you are delayed the morning of your shoot, because you’re wrestling with a toddler or a newborn, PLEASE DO NOT STRESS! Did I mention how hard it is to get out of the house with a newborn? Oh and just to add here, YES YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SHOWER AGAIN!

How to book a shoot.
1. Call, text or email Maria with your due date. Or, alternatively you can book online (link below).

2. Receive an email from Maria, we can discuss themes and color schemes. I will tentatively schedule your shoot. This is just to give me an idea of when baby is due.
3. Once date, theme and color scheme are decided upon, that's it!
4. When baby comes, text, call or email and we'll figure out a definite date for your shoot.

Indulge in the ease and charm of our Petite Newborn sessions, where everything is thoughtfully provided for your baby's enchanting photo experience. We supply an array of props, furs, fabrics, adorable hats, headbands, and accessories – all you need to bring is your precious little one! The posing for this session is straightforward, predominantly involving swaddling or wrapping, with your baby comfortably clad in a diaper throughout.
hether your little bundle of joy is peacefully sleeping or wide awake, we capture those endearing moments effortlessly. If you desire images featuring bare skin, siblings, a broader range of poses, or snuggled in parents' arms, consider exploring our other full sessions for an even more personalized photography experience.
